Simply Sparkles Winter Wedding Cake!

 

Last weekend was the wedding of Paul & Louise at the very Christmasssy-looking Etrop Grange, Manchester.

During their consultation Paul & Louise knew they wanted something quite simple with white being the main colour but with pearls and diamantes featuring also.



























Because they were getting married in December they both loved the look of the Simply Sparkles cake that they had seen when I met them at a wedding fayre with sugar crystals completely covering the surface of the cake.


 
 
 
 So we adapted the design of Simply Sparkles by removing the ribbons, adding a simple diamante strip round the base of each tier and attaching 3 pearl and diamante brooches instead of the 1 in the original design.


 
The cake was sat on a simple mirrored cake stand supplied by Louise which had a wide band of diamantes round the edge and really matched the detail on the cake!
 
The cake itself was one tier of Butterscotch cake with Toffee Buttercream, one tier of Luscious Lemon with Lemon Curd Buttercream and one artificial tier to give the cake some additional height.
 

 
 
 
This morning I received the following email from Louise;
 
Hi Rachel... Well the cake went down a treat!!! I added a few crystals to the top and it looked amazing!!!

This is the best part of my job and I wouldn't swap it for the world!
